does it work in my DAW?+
AU for logic pro and garageband, VST3 for ableton live, fl studio, cubase, reaper and anything else that scans VST3. it's built and tested first-class in ableton live and logic pro. mac only for now.
what are the dots?+
each dot is one filter sitting on one note. drag it up or down to offset just that note, hold alt and drag for just that note's width, double-click to reset it. drag a box on empty space to select several — then they move, widen and reset as a group.
how do i route MIDI into it?+
turn on MIDI FOLLOW, hold notes or a chord on a MIDI track pointed at KEYCOMB, and the comb retunes to what you're holding. the routing differs per DAW — click the ? next to the presets menu inside the plugin and it walks you through the exact steps for ableton live, logic pro, fl studio, cubase and reaper.
can i play it live?+
yes. push Q toward 200 and boosted notes ring like a playable resonator — hold chords with MIDI FOLLOW or automate SHIFT and the comb becomes an instrument. DECAY keeps the ring-out from swallowing the mix, and DYNAMICS makes bands move only while their note is actually sounding.
is it signed?+
yes — signed and notarized with an apple developer ID, so the installer opens clean with no security warning. an uninstaller is included, and it lists every file it deletes.
windows?+
soon is the honest answer. a windows VST3 build is being worked on and there's no date to promise yet — today KEYCOMB is mac only, apple silicon and intel.
refunds and updates?+
updates within 1.x are free — your lemon squeezy receipt always downloads the latest build. if KEYCOMB won't run on your system, email contact@boomerhotel.com and we'll fix it or refund it.
